PLEASE CONTINUE SUPPORTING! Another series of MUGNA next week, and one of these is V-day's staging of Eve Ensler's "A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer" (MMRP). I'm doing "The Destruction Artist". This will be on March 1, Thursday, 8pm at the Luce Auditorium in Silliman University, Dumaguete City directed by Nanay Dessa Quesada-Palm.

I'm quite scared right now because I'm the only courageous man in the cast of powerful local actresses. But of course I must bear in mind that this is a benefit performance so I should do my best to portray the role excellently not just for myself but for the advocacy.

Anyways, I AM SELLING TICKETS at 100php each. Please text me or call me at 09263303315 if you want to buy/reserve a ticket. Salamat po sa walang sawang pagsuporta.

TANGHAL 6 VISAYAS in Dumaguete City

(design by Yuen Anfone)

Every theater enthusiast in Dumaguete is now excited for the upcoming TANGHAL 6 Visayas. TANGHAL is an annual theater festival for university and college-based theater groups in the Philippines. It is the flagship project of the NCCA National Committee on Dramatic Arts for the National Arts Month celebration every February. The festival offers best performances of university theater companies all over the country, as truly showcasing the harvest of Philippine theater.

This year NCCA decided to bring the festival to the regional level, and in the Visayas region it will be held here in DUMAGUETE CITY on FEBRUARY 27-29, 2012, hosted by Silliman University and the Youth Advocates Through Theater Arts (YATTA) headed by its artistic director Dessa Quesada-Palm.

February 18, 2012. what a day!

Thanks to everyone who watched our play yesterday at the Luce Auditorium "Ang Tiririt ng Ibong Adarna" originally by the Philippine Educational Theater Education back in the 90s written by Elmer Gatchalian and music by Noel Cabangon. The show was a huge success. We still can't believe we were able to revive such beautiful piece. Thanks to our director/producer Linwell Bongcasan for taking the challenge.

I would also like to personally thank those who helped me out and joined us at Hayahay Tree House Bar for RockEd's "Safety Series" event here in Dumaguete dubbed "Let's Talk About Sex" with Wanggo Gallaga and Gang Badoy, which i directed.

We learned a lot. That's for sure.

Thanks also to those who appreciated my new song. Please do share it to your friends and spread the good news. hahahaha!

Hate her 'coz she's up there

I still don't understand why she's hated. I loved her since her Day 1 in Xfactor UK. She has a very strong personality and she's very passionate about everything she does. Tendency is that people misunderstand her and find her bratty at times. Well, that's how some artists start off in this industry. What I like about her is that she learns from her mistakes and strives harder to do better. She's a natural talent and nobody could take that away from her. I just wish people would see her talent more than anything else.

To cher:
Just go on creating beautiful music 'coz we believe in your talent. Applause from the Philippines.

This is my top favorite among her songs. Sarcasm overload!
I was so thrilled when I first saw this music video. The most controversial graduate from Xfactor UK meets her male counterpart from Xfactor USA. haha!

Where do we go?

One of my favorite foreign alternative singers/songwriters is Jack Johnson. I actually bought copies of two of his albums - Curious George and In Between Dreams - because I am fascinated with this guys originality. Despite the "relaxing" general feel of his songs, they still have this certain power and sincerity that could lead you to ponder over several things. One of his songs that I am referring to is "Good People". It's basically about the effects that the boob tube brings into our lives (based on my interpretation).

In this song, Jack Johnson asked "Where all the Good People Go?", and such question struck me when I first heard this song back in 2006. It urged me to find an answer so I decided to write my own song as a response to it.

Well, here's my answer to your question Jack!
